Letters Rogatory - LSP - Legal Process Server

Letters Rogatory

Letters Rogatory are the customary means of obtaining judicial assistance from overseas in the absence of a treaty or other agreement. They are transmitted through diplomatic channels to the foreign government so that they may be directed to the appropriate foreign court.

Legal Global Solutions will assist you in preparing them and sending them to the US State Department so they can be processed and send to the foreign country’s courts for service or for obtaining evidence. The whole process may take up to one year or more.

Letters Rogatory and all the accompanying documents must be translated into the official language of the foreign country and a notarized affidavit as to the validity of the translation issued should be included.
